Confusion (blue), was originally named Red Kipper. Bought in 1972, by JW Doxey an engineer from Bristol, who opted for the same finish as Red Herring. Doxey told me "we went down to Lymington and were shown around David Sadler's light blue boat, the first one produced. We also saw Red Herring, which was Jeremy Rogers' boat. When we got home I could never remember the name and started referring to it as 'Red Kipper' and the name stuck". Red Kipper was sold in 1977 and appeared in the 3 Peaks Yacht Race in 1983. Renamed 'Confusion', by Ray Mitchell, she won the Round The Island Race in 2003. Upgraded by Rogers Ltd in 2004, 'making her faster', Jessie Rogers confirms the Hull number is 17.
