Contessa 32 Badger of Baltimore. (IRL 120)
Badger is now reluctantly for sale. She is serviced and ready to cruise. She
can be viewed/surveyed out of the water until about 20 July, after which she
will be back on her Hamble mooring.
She has been progressively upgraded throughout her life (including new
engine, new upholstery, galley area reconfiguration, new water tank, lowered
floor, heads area re-build). We have also just redone the CopperCoat
antifouling after 12 successful years. A detailed list of improvements is
available.
We have owned Badger for 12 years. She was built for a couple in Baltimore,
Ireland: we have maintained her Irish registration (IRL120). As a family
and as a couple we have cruised her around the West Country, Brittany,
Channel Islands, Scillies and South Coast, and found her both fun to sail and
safe even in heavy weather. And, of course, a Contessa always gets
compliments. She works well short-handed and has always looked after us.
We are selling her because we now wish to sail further afield with space for more people and stores on board.
Key points:
Teak finish interior and warm red upholstery
Revamped galley and heads
Yanmar 2GM20 engine (from 1990), rebuilt 2016 when the engine bay was also reconfigured with new bearers, prop shaft, exhaust, hoses, filters, etc.
Vectran Genoa on Harken race Mk 4 furler
New mainsail cover and genoa UV strip
Removable inner forestay and storm jib
Decks recently repainted
New CopperCoat antifouling (2018)
All new batteries 2017. Aurinco 24W solar panel.
Hot and cold pressurised water (New hot water tank 2017). Mikuni hydronic diesel central heating.
